Mendel University in Brno - Faculty of Horticulture
This doctoral study programme is focused on independent scientific research in the field of European horticulture. It develops advanced knowledge of horticultural production systems, plant biology, cultivation technologies and sustainability in a European context. Emphasis is placed on experimental research, innovation in horticultural technologies, quality assessment and adaptation of horticultural systems to environmental and climatic conditions. The programme supports interdisciplinary research and international cooperation.

As a graduate, you are prepared for research and academic careers at universities and research institutions or for expert positions in horticultural research, advisory services and international projects. You may work as specialists in horticultural innovation, sustainable production systems or applied research in horticulture.
Doctoral studies are generally provided without tuition fees and are associated with doctoral stipends. Full‑time Ph.D. students receive a doctoral study income, the minimum level of which is set by legal regulations and currently amounts to approximately CZK 25,000 per month; in practice, it may be higher depending on involvement in research projects, publication activity, and other academic duties.
