This doctoral study programme focuses on independent scientific research in landscape management and engineering. It develops advanced interdisciplinary knowledge combining landscape ecology, environmental engineering, hydrology, soil conservation and planning of technical interventions in the landscape. Emphasis is placed on assessment of landscape processes, design and evaluation of engineering measures, adaptation of landscapes to climate change and mitigation of human impacts. The programme supports field‑based and experimental research, modelling approaches and international scientific cooperation.

You may work as landscape engineers, researchers or experts in sustainable landscape planning, assessment and management.

Study fee

Doctoral studies are generally provided without tuition fees and are associated with doctoral stipends. Full‑time Ph.D. students receive a doctoral study income, the minimum level of which is set by legal regulations and currently amounts to approximately CZK 25,000 per month; in practice, it may be higher depending on involvement in research projects, publication activity, and other academic duties.
