This doctoral study programme focuses on independent scientific research in silviculture. It develops advanced knowledge of forest regeneration, growth and development of forest stands, silvicultural systems and adaptation of forests to changing environmental and climatic conditions. Emphasis is placed on long‑term field experiments, analysis of silvicultural practices and application of research results to sustainable forest management. The programme supports interdisciplinary research and active participation of doctoral students in international scientific projects.

As a graduate, you are prepared for research and academic careers at universities and research institutions or for expert positions in forestry organisations and public administration. You may work as researchers, silviculture specialists or consultants in sustainable forest management and adaptation strategies.
Doctoral studies are generally provided without tuition fees and are associated with doctoral stipends. Full‑time Ph.D. students receive a doctoral study income, the minimum level of which is set by legal regulations and currently amounts to approximately CZK 25,000 per month; in practice, it may be higher depending on involvement in research projects, publication activity, and other academic duties.
