The master's degree programme in Accounting and Business Finance is to use the knowledge and skills from the bachelor's degree study and supplement them with specific knowledge and skills in the field of accounting and business finance at a higher professional level and to prepare graduates for the performance of methodological and management functions in accounting, as well as for professional functions in the field of financial control and assurance of financial statements (audit), e.g. in the positions of assistant auditors, accounting consultants and professional auditors in financial institutions. After a short period of training, graduates find employment in the top management of companies of various legal forms and of all sizes, sectors and industries, in consultancy and auditing firms and at various levels of state and local government.

After completing the programme, you will be able to: - independently apply knowledge and make decisions in Czech and international financial reporting at the level of individual and consolidated financial statements; - identify conceptual and partial differences in financial reporting systems, explain audit and solve accounting problems in practice, including proposing, describing and evaluating solutions; - work with selected accounting standards and regulations and assess departures from regulatory requirements, including reasons and consequences; - interpret economic transactions and their presentation in financial statements during business combinations and other ownership and capital changes; - use management accounting information in business process management and strategic management; - identify opportunities, limits, risks, regulatory rules and further development of information and communication technologies in accounting; - describe collective investment and financing of corporate research and development, assess investment projects and choose long-term financing for enterprises and projects based on investment policy and capital structure.
