The master's degree programme in Business and Law is to deepen the knowledge of economic and especially legal disciplines related to business activities. Special attention is paid to commercial law, including corporate law, comparative and European commercial law, legal regulation of competition, means of legal protection against unfair competition and restriction of competition, rights arising from intellectual and industrial property, issues of private and consumer law. The field of labour law and social security law is not left aside. Teaching in language courses as well as in courses taught in foreign languages complements expertise with superior language skills.
After completing the study programme, you can: - explain theories and principles of international economic relations in the context of the legal and institutional organisation of the world economy and forms of international economic cooperation; - recognise impacts of global and regional economic events and their influence on legislative measures of nation states and international organisations and on enterprise processes; - characterise international and European law and legal systems in the world, including their sources, and understand relationships among branches of the Czech legal system; - assess managerial decisions in terms of legal compliance and impact on business activities; - define legal institutes and their interrelationships in legal systems; - interpret applicable legal norms and their impact on decision-making, especially in marketing and financial management; - formulate and evaluate legal documents used in business practice; - analyse case law and evaluate its effects on practice.
