The master's degree programme in Financial Engineering is to form graduates who will not only be equipped with theoretical foundations in general economics, finance and accounting, but also be able to apply advanced mathematical, computational and statistical methods in the field of finance. They will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of stochastic analysis, statistical methods and time series, enabling them to model financial risks using advanced econometric methods, work with large data sets, use sophisticated statistical-database software tools and value complex financial products. Their knowledge of economics and financial markets will then enable them to formulate and implement informed decisions or recommendations in the area of financial risk management. Graduates of this field find employment in banks and financial institutions as analysts, traders, or managers in risk management, new financial product development, asset management and financial market trading departments, as well as in non-financial companies using advanced banking products.
After graduation, you will be able to: - apply advanced mathematical, computational and statistical methods in areas such as derivatives valuation, risk measurement and management, and asset management, - develop, apply and validate advanced financial models in accordance with current regulatory requirements and professional standards, - work with large data sets and use sophisticated statistical-database software tools (Matlab, R, Python, SAS etc.) to perform advanced financial analysis, - formulate and implement informed decisions or recommendations in the areas of risk management and trading in financial markets.
