The study programme is designed to educate professionals able to perform professional activities and solve problems of information practice, to use theoretical knowledge and ICT tools to solve specific information problems in their area of competence and to justify, present and document their proposals and solutions. Graduates will be able to use their knowledge and skills to manage professional and lower managerial functions in public and institutional information systems and services.

Graduates of the programme: - can define basic types and specifics of social and scientific information, information services, media, information sources and documents, - can characterise principles of design, implementation, integration and management of information and communication systems and services; - can explain and describe the principles of information and communication systems architecture and technology infrastructure, - can specify processes of managing information collections and explain principles of content analysis and processing of information resources (metadata creation, classification and indexing), - can explain strategies and techniques for information retrieval in professional information resources and describe the structure and functionality of document collection management software, - can characterise methods of analysing user behaviour and needs, specifying user requirements for an information system, its parts or information services; describe the main principles of electronic communication with clients.
The Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is the largest economics-focused university in Czechia and one of the leading business schools in Central and Eastern Europe. You can choose from degree programmes in economics, finance, management, informatics and international relations, taught in Czech and English.
