Ph.D. study in the field of Management is realized as a joint degree with the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The aim is to educate young researchers capable to contribute to all directions of management theory putting emphasis on the often neglected quantitative decision making processes. Namely, information analysis, and subsequent decision making belong among the most important activities of all managers employed in both private and public sphere; this holds for all technical, economic, human resource, and social processes (of operational and/or strategic nature).

After completing the PhD programme in Management, you will be able to: - identify gaps in knowledge, especially in management and related fields, and formulate research objectives, questions, assumptions and hypotheses; - analyse and synthesise theoretical concepts, solve practical problems and propose innovative solutions in social and economic reality; - develop new approaches to managerial problems in line with the current state of knowledge; - understand scientific methodology in social and economic fields and use it in independent research, including collecting, analysing, evaluating and critically interpreting data and resources; - interpret and discuss outcomes of your original research, especially in management and related fields; - formulate implications for theory, practice or methodology, present them at international professional forums and publish in respected scientific journals.
