Prague University of Economics and Business - Faculty of International Relations
The master's degree programme aims to prepare graduates for managerial positions in tourism and hospitality or related fields. The study programme is based on economically oriented subjects with a focus on the management of enterprises and institutions in tourism and hospitality in the Czech and international environment. The basic building blocks of the study programme are analytical thinking, orientation in economic practice and language skills. Graduates are also well versed in international economics, have advanced management competences, master conceptual thinking methods and can make strategic decisions in the field of tourism and hospitality, but also in everyday economic practice. The subjects studied include the intrinsically linked areas of ethical behaviour and business, sustainability and internationalisation. Courses specifically focused on tourism and hospitality support the graduate's ability to perform managerial positions both at the level of companies and public institutions or organisations, but also support the graduate's own entrepreneurship.
After completing the programme, you will: - understand management processes and their specifics in tourism and hospitality enterprises and organisations; - characterise corporate functions and processes, create strategies in line with sustainable development and apply tools of business, marketing and financial management, service quality management and human resources management; - create tourism strategies based on sustainable destination development and use tools of destination marketing and quality management; - understand international economic relations, the world economy and economic cooperation in tourism and hospitality; - use information systems for analysis and decision support; - analyse the international tourism and hospitality market, its current state and development, and propose development strategies based on global and national tourism organisations’ materials; - prepare and interpret financial analyses; - conduct and evaluate primary and secondary research using quantitative and qualitative methods; - negotiate, make decisions in multicultural teams and work in an international environment.
The Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is the largest economics-focused university in Czechia and one of the leading business schools in Central and Eastern Europe. You can choose from degree programmes in economics, finance, management, informatics and international relations, taught in Czech and English. During your studies, you build analytical thinking, data skills and the ability to apply theory in real-world contexts. The international AACSB accreditation confirms the quality of education at VŠE. Only a small percentage of business schools worldwide hold it. Teaching is closely linked with practice. You work on real projects with companies, complete internships and meet experts from business and the public sector as part of your courses. VŠE has an extensive network of partner universities, so you can study abroad across Europe and beyond. Graduates combine academic knowledge, language skills and practical experience. They find career opportunities in consulting, finance, IT, public administration and international institutions, often already during their studies.
