Study

A graduate of the doctoral study programmeme Applied Mechanics has in-depth knowledge of analytical and experimental solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics. Depending on the focus of their specialist work, they also possess knowledge in the fields of machine and equipment design and materials engineering. A graduate of the doctoral study programmeme is capable of independent as well as team-based scientific work, founded on detailed research into the given issue and an examination of its position within the relevant current professional context. The graduate is capable of producing an extensive scholarly work that expands the boundaries of current knowledge and is able to critically analyse, evaluate, and synthesise new findings. They are also able to discuss the results of their work. A graduate of the doctoral study programmeme is able to competently communicate the results of their work not only to the wider professional community but also to non-academic audiences, both through scientific publications and presentations at scientific conferences. The graduate has the ability to analyse and isolate errors and risks in complex technical problems, critically assess the results of simulations and experiments, and use theoretical knowledge to verify the results of complex models.
