The Bachelor’s degree programme in Information Technology is designed to prepare graduates who can find immediate employment as programmers or administrators of operational, information, and logistics systems or computer networks. Alternatively, they may continue their studies in one of the related master’s programs, particularly the Information Technology program, which is also accredited at the Faculty of Mechatronics, Informatics, and Interdisciplinary Studies, Technical University of Liberec.

During the course of their studies, students in the Bachelor’s programme in Information Technology (“IT”) acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge, primarily in mathematics and computer science, as well as a broader general understanding directly related to modern information technologies. They then gain comprehensive practical knowledge, primarily in the areas of information systems, programming, and the design of more complex programs and algorithms. In the second year of study, students choose a specialization in which they take core courses in applied computer science, computer science and logistics, or intelligent systems. Within the applied computer science specialization, graduates are equipped with knowledge and practical skills in software product development, the design of database, information, and internet applications, and their integration with information technology infrastructure. The Computer Science and Logistics specialization trains well-rounded professionals in the fundamentals of computer science, electrical engineering, economics, logistics, management, reliability, and the application of information technology in logistics-focused fields; thus acquiring the comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to work as a logistics manager, operations engineer, or dispatcher in warehouses and manufacturing, with broad career opportunities in both the industrial sector and the service industry. The Intelligent Systems specialization is aimed at highly motivated students who wish to specialize in the field of artificial intelligence, with a primary focus on machine learning, working with large datasets, and data mining.
