Technical University of Liberec - Fakulta strojní
The Materials and Technologies programme prepares specialists with in-depth knowledge of metallic and non-metallic materials, their technological processing, and subsequent use in a wide range of applications. Whether students focus on manufacturing processes, research, or the academic sphere, the programme provides them with the necessary skills to solve complex engineering tasks, with an emphasis on the increasing use of numerical modelling methods. Students will become familiar with materials processing and the evaluation of material properties based on the internal structure of materials, physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and mechanics. They will acquire extensive knowledge in the field of materials engineering, conventional and advanced manufacturing methods, heat treatment, surface engineering, and metrology. They will gain an overview of all stages of the production process, from preparation and production implementation to final inspection and acceptance. They will learn to work with both machining and non-machining technologies, such as machining, casting, welding, and forming. Graduates are able to make independent and responsible decisions regarding the selection of appropriate technologies and procedures for specific products, as well as the method of quality control of both the product and the manufacturing process, including the possible proposal of corrective measures.
Apply online via the study agenda information system of the Technical University of Liberec (IS/STAG TUL). The online application form is available here: https://stag.tul.cz/portal/studium/uchazec/informace.html?pc_lang=cs
You will acquire knowledge of metallic and non-metallic materials, their technological processing, and their subsequent use in a wide range of applications. They will become familiar with methods of material processing and with the evaluation of their utility properties from the perspective of the internal structure of materials, physical chemistry, thermodynamics, and mechanics. They will gain broad knowledge of both conventional and progressive manufacturing technologies and will be able to understand manufacturing procedures from production preparation, through implementation, to final acceptance, covering both chip-forming and non-chip-forming manufacturing technologies.
Technical University of Liberec (TUL) is a modern public university with more than seventy years of tradition. It connects engineering, natural sciences, economics, education, healthcare and the arts, and links education with research and practice. You will study at a university known for cooperation with industry partners, innovation and applied research. Its internationally recognised fields include nanomaterials, advanced technologies, mechanical engineering, mechatronics and sustainability-related research. Liberec offers a strong quality of life, with mountains and nature close by and many options for sport and outdoor activities.
