Technical University of Liberec - Fakulta mechatroniky, informatiky a mezioborových studií
The aim of the programme is to prepare graduates to work as researchers or engineers in industrial companies or research institutions engaged in the development and production of modern materials—particularly nanomaterials—and their applications in nanotechnology. Some graduates continue on to doctoral programs at the Technical University of Liberec, particularly in the Nanotechnology program, or at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. At other universities, graduates can find employment in a wide range of doctoral programs in applied physics and chemistry, in physics and materials engineering, and in fields focused on the control and modeling of technological processes.
Apply online via the study agenda information system of the Technical University of Liberec (IS/STAG TUL). The online application form is available here: https://stag.tul.cz/portal/studium/uchazec/informace.html?pc_lang=cs
Graduates of the Master’s programme in Nanotechnology understand the physical causes of the specific properties of nanomaterials and are proficient in advanced experimental and theoretical tools of materials research, with a particular focus on their application in the characterization of nanostructures. Graduates have mastered methods for designing materials with desired properties. They have acquired detailed knowledge of preparation procedures, material characteristics, and potential applications of specific types of nanomaterials—particularly nanofibrous, nanocomposite, and semiconductor materials—as well as the use of nanostructures in environmental protection. They further develop their professional profile by selecting from a range of required-elective and elective courses; the programme also includes a semester-long internship.
Technical University of Liberec (TUL) is a modern public university with more than seventy years of tradition. It connects engineering, natural sciences, economics, education, healthcare and the arts, and links education with research and practice. You will study at a university known for cooperation with industry partners, innovation and applied research. Its internationally recognised fields include nanomaterials, advanced technologies, mechanical engineering, mechatronics and sustainability-related research. Liberec offers a strong quality of life, with mountains and nature close by and many options for sport and outdoor activities. At TUL, you can use modern facilities, benefit from a supportive academic environment and work closely with faculty members. You can also join international exchanges and take part in research and innovation projects during your studies.
