The College of European and Regional Studies
In the Security and Legal Studies programme, you gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for a successful career in security, law and public administration. The programme prepares you for employment in security forces, integrated rescue system units, public administration, crisis management, private security services and other institutions involved in protecting people, property and public order. You can also use the knowledge and competencies you gain in emergency management, crime prevention and security policy.
Apply electronically via the school’s online system. You can find admission procedure dates and other organisational information on the school’s website. The school will also send them to applicants by e-mail.
The programme prepares you, in a qualified and responsible way, as a professionally oriented specialist who can carry out a diverse range of professional and specialised public-law and security-law activities and processes of both ‘direct’ and ‘indirect’ security nature within the framework of protecting public law in public administration. This includes protecting people and property, public order, lives, health and property values, and protecting society against unacceptable antisocial phenomena. You will also be able to fulfil tasks in planning, organising and carrying out activities aimed at preventing emergencies and crisis situations, ensuring preparedness for such events and contributing to their effective resolution.
The payment deadlines and other payment methods are specified in the Study Agreement, which applicants will receive during the admission interview. Tuition fees may also be paid in instalments according to a payment schedule.
The College of European and Regional Studies is the first and largest private higher education institution in the South Bohemian Region. It was established on April 3, 2001 as a public benefit corporation by the founders of the Meridionalis Endowment Fund and its partner, the Secondary School of Informatics and Legal Studies. After two years, state approval from the Accreditation Commission allowed it to operate. It later opened a branch in Příbram, where a Memorandum on its presence in the city was signed on May 26, 2004. Study here to prepare for the Integrated Rescue System, public administration, its institutions and units. You gain European-standard knowledge for administrative and legal processes, protection of public law, people, property, public order, lives, health and property values, protection against antisocial phenomena, and emergency and crisis prevention and preparedness. Graduates work in public administration, at the Police of the Czech Republic, municipal police, the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic, the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and the Probation and Mediation Service of the Czech Republic, as well as in non-profit, social and civic organisations and the economic sphere. Over more than 20 years, the College has had over 3,000 graduates. About 500 students now study in bachelor’s degree programmes.
