In the three-year full-time Bachelor's degree programme in Physiotherapy at VŠTVS PALESTRA, you prepare for independent and team-based work in preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic rehabilitation care. You learn how to help patients affected by illness or injury return to active social life. The programme uses the ECTS credit system and ends with a state bachelor's examination after you earn at least 180 credits. The curriculum combines compulsory, elective and compulsory elective courses. In your second year, you choose a specialisation for the following year: "Balneology and Wellness" or "Sports Physiotherapy". Practical training is a key part of the programme and totals 1,600 hours: 1,000 hours of clinical placement in healthcare facilities in Prague and other regions, 550 hours within taught subjects and 50 hours of sports activities. As a graduate, you can work in the public or private sector and gain a solid foundation for postgraduate courses in individual rehabilitation methods.

For the 2027/2028 academic year (admissions for the current year are closed), register fully online. Submit the E-Application on the website, pay the application fee and upload the required documents: high school graduation certificate (maturita), medical confirmation and clean criminal record declaration. Use the official forms on the school's website. Entrance exams for Physiotherapy usually take place in June. The programme is taught only in Czech. Foreign applicants are invited to an interview to verify their Czech language proficiency and ability to study in Czech.

Study

As a graduate of the Physiotherapy programme, you become a university-qualified non-medical healthcare professional ready to perform diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive activities independently in both the public and private sectors. During your studies, you gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in modern physiotherapy, including physical therapy and manual mobilisation techniques. Your foundation includes medical disciplines such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology, complemented by psychology, ethics and law. You can functionally diagnose and treat patients with movement system disorders, provide education and ergonomic counselling, and train other healthcare professionals. Career paths include therapeutic, occupational and vocational rehabilitation, preventive and sports medicine, occupational therapy, and institutions for people with special needs.

Study fee

The tuition fee for one academic year can be divided into two installments, as specified in the study agreement.
