The study programme is aimed at the professional training of specialists in the field of adult development and education in both the profit and non-profit sectors. The aim of the study is to guide students towards an understanding of current phenomena and processes in this field and their mutual interconnectedness, to further develop their knowledge and skills needed for the creation, implementation, financing, accreditation and evaluation of educational programmes, and to enable them to work with the human potential of individual adult education specialists in organisational processes, with an emphasis on managing people and building professionals, particularly with regard to the implementation of innovative approaches in education and modern technologies. Emphasis is placed on the development of students’ andragogical and managerial competences in planning, management, organisation and coordination within an effective system of development and educational activities in an organisation. The intention is to emphasise the development of students’ soft skills — communication skills, assertiveness, the ability to work in a team and with a team, the ability to resolve conflicts creatively and negotiate, independence and an active approach, organisational skills, self-reflection, adaptability and empathy, the ability to give and receive constructive criticism, and strategic and conceptual thinking — enabling them to professionalise their activities in practice.
Within the study programme Specialist in Adult Education and Development, experts are trained for educational, personal development and human resources roles in both the profit and non-profit sectors. The study programme, with a predominance of andragogical courses, provides graduates with the prerequisites for employment in the management of human resources, with an emphasis on adult education. Graduates may find employment in positions such as adult education specialist, vocational training coordinator, career counsellor, corporate training mentor, commissioner of educational contracts, HR specialist focused on adult development and education, lecturer, and other specific positions related to the content of the study programme. The learning outcomes and study plan of the programme are designed in accordance with graduates’ employment opportunities.
