The professional study programme prepares qualified professionals in accordance with Government Regulation No. 275/2016 Coll. The programme responds to the increasing demand for competent graduates who are oriented in the issues of a broader understanding of environmental security and sustainable development of society in the context of the climate and environmental challenges of today and the currently valid Environmental Security Concept 2021-2030 with a view to 2050. The growing agenda and importance of this issue, both in the public administration and in the private sector, are mainly due to the obligations arising from the analysis of threats to the Czechia, current concepts of protection of the population and the so-called Paris Convention or Green Deal for Europe.

Study

The profile of the graduate comprehensively covers the fields of security, earth sciences and informatics according to Government Regulation No. 275/2016 Coll. in the ratio of 45% / 35% / 20%. Graduates thus have knowledge of crisis management, security and the characteristics of the components of the landscape sphere and their relationships, which are applied and monitored with appropriate IT tools. Complementing and linking with the computer science courses will enable the graduate to acquire skills in the effective use of computational and predictive apparatus for the application of development and management of the landscape sphere and its safe and sustainable use by humans. Graduates can thus be expected to have the ability to solve complex problems, as well as to understand colleagues from related disciplines and to contribute to current global challenges (e.g. UNESCO's Sustainable Development Goals) in collaboration with them.
