This research-oriented study programme is designed to provide scientific education to experts from both academia and industrial companies. Applied research and development of new methods and tools to enhance the performance of manufacturing and administrative processes within complex corporate systems is a core focus.

Graduates of master's degree programmes who have met the admission requirements may be admitted to the doctoral study programme. Before submitting the application, the applicant must choose a topic for the dissertation. This topic must be approved by the selected supervisor. The list of dissertation topics is available at this link: (https://fame.utb.cz/en/research-and-development/doctoral-studies/doctoral-thesis-topic-titles/). The condition for admission to study is completing studies in the Master's degree programme. The applicant attaches to the application for Doctoral studies approx. 10-page long research essay detailing the selected research topic from the list suggested by the Supervisor. Other mandatory documents are curriculum vitae, evidence of completed education, a list of research publications, and the Supervisor's consent to the applicant's supervision. Study

The graduate of the doctoral degree programme Industrial Engineering has key knowledge in the field of selected economic and managerial subjects corresponding to the current state of knowledge. At the same time, the graduate has knowledge of new trends in the field of industrial engineering, can identify key development trends in this area and set the required areas of scientific research activities that meet market requirements (industrial companies) applicable in specific company conditions. The graduate has skills focused on planning, decision-making and optimization processes and can use these skills to understand and develop concepts and selected methods of industrial engineering. Thanks to the above knowledge and skills, the graduates have the competencies that entitle them to develop systemic disciplines and solve scientific research issues and related scientific problems. Depending on the type of a degree programme, the student can identify, classify and interpret economic data in the appropriate scope and detail, including explicit and implicit assumptions using key concepts of linear programming, mathematical-statistical analysis and methods, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The graduate can use current information technology and software support for administrative and analytical work.
