In the Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology programme, special emphasis is placed on methods of preparation and characterization of materials and their phase interfaces and surface properties, which often determine their use for a wide range of applications in the engineering, electrical, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive and aerospace industries, as well as in the medicine or tissue engineering.

The graduate of the study programme will be an expert in the field of chemistry educated primarily in modern technologies of materials preparation. At the same time, he or she will gain an overview of the analysis and characterization of substances, their systems and composites. The student will know and understand the synergistic relationships between nanostructure and macrostructure and between materials in the context of phase interfaces and will also gain knowledge in the field of modelling the behaviour of composites, information related to materials used in 3D printing, nanofibre and microfibre production technology.
