Univerzita Pardubice - Fakulta restaurování
The objectives of the programme are: to educate highly qualified professionals capable of independently addressing complex research and professional tasks; to promote interdisciplinarity in the field of conservation and restoration; to strengthen the scientific and methodological foundations of heritage conservation; to develop ethical and methodological standards of the discipline; to enhance the human resource capacity and quality of institutions operating in the fields of heritage conservation, research, and education; and to support the internationalisation of doctoral education in the field. Doctoral studies provide a framework for the implementation of research projects that go beyond the scope of master’s-level education. The institutional background of two collaborating universities, supported by a third major partner, enables the integration of artistic and conservation–restoration techniques with natural sciences and humanities disciplines. The programme focuses not only on advanced professional specialization but also on the development of research skills, methodological competence, and the ability to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.
as defined by the directive entitled ‘Rules for the Admissions Procedure’
Graduates are capable of professionally addressing complex problems in both basic and applied research, as well as in the conservation and restoration of significant objects of cultural heritage. They are able to propose and critically evaluate innovative solutions and to methodically and conceptually carry out highly specialized professional, scientific, or conservation–restoration work while preserving the artistic authenticity of the artefact. Graduates are also qualified to hold managerial or coordinating positions in the field of care for tangible cultural heritage.
