Specialization: Operation and Maintenance of Vehicles The study programme focuses on acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for graduates to successfully find employment, particularly in the field of operation, maintenance and repair of rail or road vehicles. Specialization: Electric Traction and Electromobility The aim of the study programme is to prepare graduates to independently solve assigned tasks related to electromobility, namely electrical engineering and electrical systems in rail and road vehicles, as well as the related electrical infrastructure. In addition, students will gain a broader overview of transport issues and the mechanical design of vehicles. Graduates will then be prepared to solve the tasks entrusted to them in broader interdisciplinary contexts, using appropriate software tools and foreign languages. Specialization: Vehicle Design and Construction The study programme focuses on acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to address issues related to the design of the mechanical parts of rail or road vehicles.

Studium

A graduate of the academically oriented Bachelor’s degree programme “Transport Technology” has a broad overview of issues related to rail or road transport vehicles and the safeguarding of their operation, including links to the legislation relevant to the given specialization and the potential environmental impacts of transport. The graduate also understands technical disciplines to an extent corresponding to the chosen specialization of the study programme. The common theoretical foundation of the study programme is based on disciplines such as mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, physics, mechanics and electrical engineering. These subjects are followed by specialized professional courses focused on technical measurement, the structure and properties of materials, elasticity and strength, electrical machines, devices and drives, electronics and digital technology, the design of rail or road vehicles, and the environmental aspects of transport. A more specific profiling of the graduate in the field of rail or road vehicles is ensured within the given specialization through the choice of a compulsory-elective block of courses. Thanks to this, the graduate is also familiar with issues related to signalling technology and electric traction, or with road safety, automotive electronics and diagnostics. In addition to knowledge in the above-mentioned areas, the graduate also acquires the knowledge necessary for successful work in technical practice, especially in the use of appropriate information and design systems and systems for creating technical documentation. Students’ knowledge and skills are then systematically developed with regard to the chosen specialization and supplemented by professional practical training. The graduate thus becomes a specialist in the operation and maintenance of land transport vehicles, in their construction, or in the field of electric traction, electromobility and signalling technology, while also being capable of professional communication in a foreign language.
