University of Pardubice - Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics
The aim of the doctoral study programme is to prepare students for independent and team-based creative work and for solving complex research and scientific tasks based on both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Emphasis is also placed on the ability to present and publish research results at conferences and in scientific journals. Based on the selection of elective courses and, in particular, the dissertation topic, students typically specialise in one of three main areas: radio engineering, microwave technology, radar and communication systems; modelling and simulation of network systems; or process control and automation.
The application for doctoral studies in English at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the University of Pardubice is submitted electronically via the e-application system. Applicants select a study programme, fill in the required information, and submit the application online. After registration, a field-specific application number is assigned, which can be used to track the application status. Before applying, it is recommended to contact a supervisor and choose a dissertation topic. The administrative fee is CZK 2,000, is non-refundable, and must be paid for each application. The application is considered valid only after the fee has been paid.
Graduates of the doctoral programme are highly qualified experts in information, communication, or control technologies with a focus on theoretical and experimental research. They are proficient in modern mathematical methods, computer simulations, artificial intelligence and soft computing techniques, optimisation, and other advanced research methods based on intensive use of computational resources. Depending on their specialisation, they are able to conduct research, development, and project work in microwave, localisation, and telecommunication technologies, simulation systems, network technologies, or industrial automation systems. They are also capable of transferring research results into practical applications and further developing them. Graduates find employment in academia as well as in industry, particularly in applied research positions.
