Study programme Botany offers topics in botanical disciplines, including the study of cyanobacteria, algae, higher plants and fungal organisms, including lichens, and corresponding theoretical education in four areas: 1. Systematic topics are dominated by the study of microevolutionary processes, but also the ecological differentiation of populations and phylogeography using the combination of molecular and conventional methods. 2. Topics in plant ecology range from the level of individuals through populations up to communities and the study of vegetation on a landscape scale. 3. Long-term interest is devoted to vegetation dynamics, in particular to the succession and its use in restoration ecology, and also the expansion of non-native plants. 4. The fourth set of topics covers archaeobotany and paleoecology.The programme is accredited jointly with the Institute of Botany AS CR in Třeboň
Article 3. Apply to the Doctoral study programme through STAG within the stated dates, with annexes and admission fee (Article 5). Applicants may be: a) Czech Republic citizens meeting this decision; b) foreign nationals meeting special rules for foreign nationals at universities in Czechia. Include programme name and supervisor who agrees to supervise you. Attach: detailed CV; certified PDF of university diploma/s via authorised conversion under Section 22 of Act No. 300/2008 Coll. and study details (Study Report or diploma supplement); dissertation project form; recommendation from academic staff other than supervisor; optionally papers, reviews, course, internship and language certificates. You will learn to use advanced methods of field and laboratory research, independently design, perform and correctly evaluate experimental data, write and present scientific publications and project outputs. Graduate destinations include: Researcher, Manager in institutions focused on biological and ecological research and management, Specialist in research and educational institutions, universities, institutes of applied research in agriculture, forestry and nature conservation, Specialis in museums, state and public administration institutions, commercial organizations, and non-profit organizations in the field of environment.
