The doctoral programme Integrative Biology brings together the fields of biology, which use similar methodological approaches; from the fields of molecular and cell biology, molecular to organ physiology and biochemistry, immunology, infection biology, proteomics, genetics and genomics, supported by bioinformatics and mathematical modeling. The doctoral programme covers molecular cell and developmental biology and physiology in mouse and insect models, plants and single-celled organisms, molecular phylogenetics, evolutionary cytogenetics, and molecular integrative physiology and immunology with selected biomedical problems.The programme is accredited jointly with the Biology Centre of AS CR in České Budějovice and the Institute of Microbiology AS CR in Třeboň

Study

You will learn to use basic knowledge and skills in biology, biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, apply advanced methods of laboratory research supported by methods of bioinformatics and mathematical modelling, comprehensively design and perform experiments, write and present scientific publications and project outputs. Graduate destinations include researcher, lab manager, manager in institutions focused on biological research and management, employee in research and educational institutions, universities, institutes of application research, employee of state and public administration institutions, in commercial organizations, as well as in non-profit organizations.
