The graduate is able to perform independent work in clinical laboratories (clinical biochemistry, hematology, immunology, blood transfusion, histology, microbiology, cellular and molecular genetics) in the analysis of biological material using the latest laboratory examination procedures, instrumentation and computer technology. Graduates of this professionally oriented bachelor's degree programme will be entitled to exercise the regulated medical profession of medical laboratory technician on the basis of the approval opinion of the Ministry of Health of the Czechia (No. MZDR 46401/2017-8/ONP) issued for this programme under Act No. 96/2004 Coll., as amended. The importance of this profession in the health care sector stems from the need for accurate and timely laboratory diagnosis in the diagnosis of disease prevention and during therapy, where laboratory diagnosis is currently irreplaceable. This fact implies that our graduates are very well placed in the labour market, where they come well equipped in terms of theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
New students are admitted once a year, and entrance exams for the following academic year are usually held in June. 1) Submission of an electronic application via the STAG system. 2) Payment of the admission procedure fee. 3) Submission of the required documents (e.g. medical certificate, secondary school leaving certificate, diploma depending on the type of study). 4) Completion of the entrance examination, if required for the given study programme. 5) Evaluation of the admission procedure and publication of results. 6) The possibility to file an appeal against a rejection decision within the specified deadline.
