The aim of the degree programme is to prepare graduates for administrative and managerial functions in the state administration, local government and non-profit organizations focused on management issues of regional development. The students' knowledge of the basic theoretical and methodological subjects, but also professional training and skills within the field are strengthened in order to prepare students for practice. Graduates will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the qualified performance of administrative activities and professions in the field of regional development, including the digitalization of public administration. The degree programme also emphasises the European context of regional development. Some profiling subjects are also offered to full-time students in English.

Apply for bachelor's degree programmes at the Faculty of Economics of the University of South Bohemia can be submitted exclusively in the form of an electronic application. Officially certified annual reports for individual years of study at secondary school in the form of PDFs from authorised conversion or a catalog sheet electronically signed by the principal of the secondary school are included in the application for study. The school-leaving certificate is also included in the form of an officially certified copy in the form of a PDF from authorised conversion. Study

Graduates of the Regional Development Management programme acquire fundamental knowledge of economics, economic policy, and economic geography, with a focus on regional and local systems. They understand public administration, its legislative framework, e-government, and management methods applied in the public sector. They are able to analyse public administration problems, prepare professional decision-making documents, and design and evaluate regional strategic plans. Graduates understand public finance systems, including revenue collection and allocation for regional development, and are familiar with funding from transnational sources and public procurement processes. They possess skills in regional analysis using statistical methods, accounting basics, and information and GIS tools, and can make decisions on resource use considering economic and demographic factors. Graduates have at least B2 proficiency in a foreign language and are prepared for roles such as project manager, grant specialist, methodological expert, or manager in regional and non-profit organisations.
