The doctoral study programme in General Crop Production offers students an expansion of both theoretical and practical knowledge in plant production, with emphasis on the biological, genetic, physiological, and ecological aspects of production, as well as on issues related to modern approaches to soil management, crop cultivation technologies, and the quality of plant products. Through an individually designed study plan, the programme enables students to specialise in areas such as soil management, cultivation technologies of field crops, plant breeding and protection, and the quality and processing of plant products. In addition to completing required and elective examinations and fulfilling other obligations within the individual study plan, This programme prepares you to prepare students for highly specialised scientific and research activities through the development of their dissertation thesis, publication of achieved results, and participation in teaching and research activities at their host institution.
Submit the electronic “Application for Study at a Higher Education Institution” on the FZT USB website. Attach your CV and Master’s degree diploma, either as an officially certified PDF from authorised conversion – CZECH POINT or in paper form by post to the FZT USB Student Affairs Office. If you cannot submit the diploma with the application, provide it by enrolment day. International applicants submit proof of English or Czech at minimum B2 through a recognised certificate and send the FZT USB International Relations Office a copy of a nostrified document confirming a state final examination equivalent to a Master’s degree in Czechia. FZT USB may require further originals or certified documents. You demonstrate prerequisites in an oral interview; internationals may use MS Teams.
Graduates of the doctoral study programme in General Crop Production possess advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in plant production, with a strong focus on biological, genetic, physiological, and ecological aspects. They have in-depth expertise in soil management, crop cultivation technologies, plant breeding and protection, and the quality of plant products. They are capable of conducting independent scientific research, formulating research problems, designing experiments, and interpreting and publishing results in professional journals. They actively participate in teaching activities and are prepared to lead research projects. Graduates find employment in research institutions, universities, applied research, advisory services, and specialised enterprises, and are well qualified for leading expert and scientific positions.
