Doctoral studies in the Protection of Aquatic Ecosystems study programme present an interesting opportunity to continue acquiring new scientific knowledge according to an individual study plan. 1. Choose your study programme. 2. Choose a doctoral thesis topic and contact the supervisor. 3. If the supervisor agrees, submit an e-application and pay CZK 700. 4. Deliver a list of marks and credits from Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, verified by your university Study Office. 5. Submit an original or officially certified copy of a Master’s or higher diploma; foreign university graduates submit proof that the qualification allows doctoral study in that country. 6. Add a structured CV with education, expert or research activities, publications, lectures or reviews, a cover letter explaining interest in DSP at FFPW USB, the Ph.D. topic and method, topics of your bachelor and diploma theses, and a positive supervisor statement. Graduates: have scientifically and analytically sound knowledge in the field of environmental protection, environmental chemistry, toxicology, aquatic ecology, and molecular biology, have good scientific insight into the current issues related to the topic of their dissertation, with an international perspective, have good understanding of the latest data processing methods and know how to work with sources, are top-quality researchers at the European or world level, with the ability to apply the acquired knowledge and experience in a further scientific career at Czech, European or non-European scientific institutions engaged in basic and applied research, are able to work as innovators or highly qualified consultants and advisory specialists in the field of aquatic environment protection within the Czechia and the EU, are able to apply the acquired expertise in positions in the public administration responsible for environmental protection, are qualified for a career of specialized clerks specialized clerks in public administration at the level of ministerial, regional or municipal authorities in the field of nature or environmental protection, are able to participate in the activities of professional institutions and specialized companies focusing on water management, water treatment processes and analyses (water treatment plants, river basin companies, specialized labs) You can become: Researchers at institutions specialised in the environment and its protection, or in other scientific, ecological, biological, chemical, agricultural or thematically related basic and applied research, Pedagogues focusing on environmental issues, biology, ecology, chemistry, and toxicology, Specialized officers in public administration at the level of ministerial, regional or municipal authorities in the field of nature or environmental protection, Experts working in institutions focusing on ecology, nature and landscape protection
