By completing the programme, the student will acquire the professional competence to perform the profession of radiological assistant in inpatient health care facilities, in outpatient health care facilities, in veterinary surgery departments and in research departments. The graduate is able to provide professional radiological procedures, techniques and related professional activities including nursing activities. In addition, the student will have the competence to practice in Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy and Radiodiagnostics (CT, NMR, Angiography, Ultrasound).

New students are admitted once a year, and entrance exams for the following academic year are usually held in June. 1) Submission of an electronic application via the STAG system. 2) Payment of the admission procedure fee. 3) Submission of the required documents (e.g. medical certificate, secondary school leaving certificate, diploma depending on the type of study). 4) Completion of the entrance examination, if required for the given study programme. 5) Evaluation of the admission procedure and publication of results. 6) The possibility to file an appeal against a rejection decision within the specified deadline.

Study

Students will learn to understand the structure and functions of the human body and identify physiological dysfunctions, operate medical equipment, instruments, and technologies while ensuring patient safety and maximum comfort, work in the fields of diagnostic radiology, radiation therapy, and nuclear medicine, provide patients with professional information about diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, the risks associated with medical exposure to ionising radiation, and measures to minimise these risks. Career opportunities include positions such as Radiographer in diagnostic radiology departments, Radiographer in radiation therapy departments, Radiographer in nuclear medicine departments, Radiographer in veterinary imaging facilities, Specialist at research institutions working with sources of ionising radiation, University teaching and academic staff member, Radiation protection specialist at the Czech State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB) or the National Radiation Protection Institute (SÚRO).
