The doctoral study programme Agriculture and Technology 4.0 focuses on acquiring deep and systematic knowledge and skills in the use of modern computational methods that are essential for further development in this field, including artificial intelligence methods, applications of electronics and automation in agricultural production, the use of computer simulations for the design and optimisation of agricultural machinery and technological systems, and the use of experimental data for the development of new technical solutions for crop and animal production. The study content is designed with respect to the professional focus of the programme in order to fully reflect current trends in the intensive integration of electronics and automation into agricultural and food production processes in line with the Industry 4.0 concept. These include, for example, partially or fully automated technological systems for enterprise management, milking robots, automated guidance systems for agricultural machinery in field operations, the introduction of autonomous robots applicable in crop production, the implementation of new technologies in the food industry, and the principles of precision agriculture.

Submit the electronic “Application for Study at a Higher Education Institution” on the FZT USB website. Attach your CV and Master’s degree diploma, either as an officially certified PDF from authorised conversion – CZECH POINT or in paper form by post to the FZT USB Student Affairs Office. If you cannot submit the diploma with the application, provide it by enrolment day. International applicants submit proof of English or Czech at minimum B2 through a recognised certificate and send the FZT USB International Relations Office a copy of a nostrified document confirming a state final examination equivalent to a Master’s degree in Czechia. FZT USB may require further originals or certified documents. You demonstrate prerequisites in an oral interview; internationals may use MS Teams.

Graduates of the doctoral study programme Agriculture and Technology 4.0 possess advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in modern digital and automation technologies applied in agriculture and the food industry. They are proficient in artificial intelligence methods, applications of electronics and automation in agricultural production, and the use of computer simulations for the design and optimisation of technical systems. They are capable of working with experimental data and applying it to develop innovative solutions for both crop and animal production. They are familiar with the principles of Industry 4.0 and precision agriculture, including the use of autonomous systems, robotics, and advanced control technologies. You will be able to analyse complex technical problems, propose effective solutions, and implement modern technologies in practice. They find employment in agricultural enterprises, technology and development companies, the food industry, advisory organisations, and research institutions, and are prepared to continue their studies at the doctoral level.
