Students of this study programme deepen their knowledge of modern archaeology. They develop independent learning and thinking, as well as independent work with various resources. Moreover, you gain deep insight into the theory and methods related to archaeology. You can independently analyse and interpret the results of empirical research with the help of equipment commonly used in archaeology, including the latest computer technology. Student deepen their knowledge of prehistoric, medieval and modern archaeology not only in Czechia, but also European environment. They master two world languages.

Study

During your studies, students focus their attention on landscape and non-destructive archaeology and burial archaeology. This study programme includes subjects focused on bioarchaeology, and the archaeology of early medieval Europe. You gain deep knowledge of history. They participate in field research activities organized by the department. After graduation, you can find employment in museums, schools, or heritage centres, as well as in government bodies focused on the preservation of monuments. They can work for building authorities, in tourism, or in related fields, such as geology or ecology.
