“Who are we? What is the purpose of our life? Why do we exist?” The study programme Philosophy focuses on topics related to European and global philosophical thoughts. It deals with four spheres. The first one is the history of philosophy, which offers a historical overview of philosophy. The second sphere aims at the philosophy of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and the third one introduces various philosophical disciplines, such as ontology, epistemology, philosophical anthropology, ethics and logic. The last thematic area deals with the most important topics discussed in philosophy. You master two world languages.

You gain in-depth knowledge of the history of Czech and global philosophy, and learn to interpret philosophical texts. They will be able to independently analyse and critically evaluate different sources of information. As a result, they are able to express their opinions and rationally assess different ideological systems. Students develop their communication skills and gain insight into the principles of communication. As a result, they are able to publicly present and defend their opinions. During your studies, you master at least two world languages. Graduates learn how to evaluate information, and work with philosophical texts. Therefore, after graduation, you can find employment in the media, publishing houses, or cultural institutions. After graduation, you can work in tourism, the public sector, or government and non-government organizations, where they can use their ability in independent creative and critical thinking.
