The aim of the two-year follow-up master's’s study programme is to familiarize students with available methods of production and processing of metallic and non-metallic materials. These include classical technologies such as welding, casting, forming, heat and thermo-chemical treatment, 3D printing, powder metallurgy, etc. The programme also enables students to complete certificate studies in the field of design and production of welded structures, modern materials or corrosion engineering.

You will learn to develop a technological procedure for the production of a specific machine component or its heat treatment. You will acquire the preparation of metallographic specimens of various types of materials and be able to document and evaluate their microstructures. You will learn basic surface treatments of metals and alloys. You will be able to assess the suitability of individual technologies and processing methods for specific materials with regard to the required properties of the final product. You will also gain orientation in non-traditional advanced materials, nanomaterials and modern technologies for the production and processing of semi-finished products. During your studies, you will also become familiar with current scientific developments in these fields. You will find employment in mechanical engineering companies, most often as production technologists, quality managers and materials, corrosion or welding engineers. You may also work as heads of laboratories for mechanical testing, metallography or materials research. After completing your studies, you may take a course to obtain the diploma of International Welding Engineer.
