The study programme consists of a theoretical and a practical part. Students may practice in-school and out-school assistance to children in need of support measures, you learn about various possibilities how to support these pupils, they get an opportunity to be involved in research projects, they may get experience in special or ordinary schools, in NGOs providing services to disabled people or protecting their rights and they may gain much more useful experiences and skills.

Students are introduced to the entire portfolio of disciplines and they gain knowledge in the field of education and special education. You learn the basic of didactics and diagnostics (from the point of education, special education, pedagogical-psychological) and get deep in some areas of psychology and sociology. You gain knowledge and skills in the fields of social sciences, languages and biomedicine. Graduates of the Special Pedagogy Bachelor study are able to provide professional intervention and support at elementary schools, special elementary schools and other school facilities and departments. Moreover, they may find employment in other assisting professions, working e.g. in the field of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Graduates have also the possibility of continuing their studies in one of the Master’s degree programmes.
