The Bachelor’s study programme Society and Politics is a follow-up to Sociology and Political Science. The study programme is based on elements of the above-mentioned programmes and unites them in a new multidisciplinary study programme. The Department of Sociology and the Department of Politics and International Relations break the boundaries of traditional disciplines with the aim to improve the relevance of education provided. The aim of the study programme is to educate experts in sociological and political science analyses.

Students possess in-depth knowledge of processes and institutions of contemporary democratic societies. They are familiar with methods used in the research of societies and politics, which they are able to use when performing analyses of social and political issues. They can use specific methods of sociological analyses, and understand key research topics of contemporary sociology and sociological theories. After graduation, you can find employment in state and non-governmental organizations, particularly in those dealing with social development, social problems and the provision of social services. They can also work in media, public relations and marketing. Graduates can perform market research activities and public opinion polls, or work for political parties.
