The aim of this four-year doctoral study programme is to educate highly qualified design engineers in the field of power and production machines and equipment, road and rail vehicles. You will gain deep knowledge of machine design and development and will be able to increase their efficiency, durability and reliability.

You will understand the operation of power plants and gain an overview of gas turbines and turbochargers. They will have detailed knowledge of nuclear reactors, reactor technology, solar technology, seismology theory, heat and mass transfer, industrial aerodynamics and turbulence. They will also focus on mechatronics, measuring equipment and diagnostics, automation and control of production machines, design of road and rail vehicles and forming machines. They will also become familiar with advanced 3D modelling techniques, digital product development, structural resilience, road safety systems and modern trends in machine production. Graduates will find employment in the energy sector, in computational, design and development departments and in research institutes. They may also work as teachers at secondary schools and universities.
