The Studys of this study programme possess deep knowledge of new structures of power semiconductor converters and actuators, converters and actuators with enhanced energy efficiency and high power density. Moreover, they understand electrical systems for means of transport, robots, handling devices, industrial and energy technologies and mechatronic systems. The study programme is focused on the design of power electronic technologies and electrical drives, as well as modern control methods. This study programme aims at educating experts in the areas of new principles, materials and production technologies of modern electric devices and their structural arrangement. They master the principles of cooling methods and heat conduction. Moreover, you learn how to use modern methods to design electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical parts of devices. You learn how to simulate and model operation parameters of modern electric devices in various load modes. This study programme aims at educating experts in the generation, transmission, distribution and use of electric and thermal energy. You gain deep knowledge of the operation and fault states of power systems and will be able to deal with increased demands on control management of electricity networks in relation to the growing share of decentralized resources and increasing demands on the reliability and quality of electricity supplies.

Study

Students understand the principles of data transmission and processing, as well as the area of traction vehicle structure: electro-automobiles, public means of transport, and electric locomotives. You will be able to deal with issues related to electric drives, power electronics and regulation technology, as well as to the structure and equipment of traction stations. After graduation, you can continue your studies in doctoral programmes, or enter the labour market. After graduation, you can find employment in the operation and control of electrical grids, they will be able to design individual protective elements of electrical networks and systems, and will gain in-depth knowledge of modeling and simulation of a fault operation. As graduates focusing on production technology of electricity and heat energy, you gain deep knowledge of the operation and design of conventional and unconventional technologies, including technologies designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce the impact of the energy industry on the environment. You learn how to prepare an electromagnetic design of electrical devices and will be able to create a construction drawing by using various drawing programs. You learn how to design electric drive systems, including control algorithms and dimensioning of individual components. You master technical English vocabulary which they will be able to use in both written and oral forms.
