VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
Additive Manufacturing Technologies is a follow-up Master's degree programme focused on advanced additive manufacturing processes, digital production preparation, and post-processing technologies. You acquire advanced knowledge of metal, polymer and composite 3D printing technologies, design for additive manufacturing, 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and manufacturing process management. The programme includes training in professional CAD/CAM systems, process optimization, quality control, and metrology. The curriculum combines theoretical foundations with practical experience gained through industrial projects and research activities, preparing graduates for the implementation of additive manufacturing in modern engineering practice.
Graduates of the Additive Manufacturing Technologies programme possess comprehensive knowledge and skills in additive manufacturing and related engineering technologies. They are able to design products according to Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles, select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, optimize production parameters, and perform post-processing operations including machining, heat treatment, and surface finishing. Graduates are proficient in professional CAD software, additive manufacturing workflow tools, 3D scanning technologies, and reverse engineering methods. They can independently solve engineering problems, analyse and evaluate measurement data, and implement innovative manufacturing solutions in industrial practice. Graduates are qualified for positions such as additive manufacturing engineer, design engineer, process engineer, R&D specialist, project manager, or researcher in sectors including mechanical engineering, automotive, aerospace, healthcare, and industrial design.
Choose VSB – Technical University of Ostrava and study at a university that has brought together engineering, economics, natural sciences and the arts for more than 175 years.
