The aim of the follow-up Master's degree programme in Industrial Engineering is to educate specialists with broad theoretical and practical knowledge of fundamental manufacturing technologies, their design, organisation, and management within the engineering industry. Building upon their knowledge in the core areas of the discipline, including design, production and quality management, and metrology, students further develop their expertise through the study of logistics, as well as production management methods and techniques. The programme aims to provide students with advanced theoretical knowledge in the design and management of manufacturing systems, together with a comprehensive understanding of experimental and numerical methods used in scientific research. The follow-up Master's degree programme in Industrial Engineering prepares graduates for a wide range of technical positions in manufacturing enterprises, where highly qualified professionals with strong technical and project-oriented education are required. It develops specialists across the broad field of industrial engineering who are capable of designing and innovating technological processes and production systems, including related support and service processes. The programme also educates specialists in management, design, and all associated activities connected with industrial engineering practice.

Study

A graduate of the follow-up Master's degree programme in Industrial Engineering possesses specialist knowledge in both theoretical and applied disciplines. These include mathematics, descriptive geometry, physics, computer graphics, computational methods, the mechanics of rigid and deformable bodies and environments, materials science, thermomechanics, and fluid mechanics at a level enabling their practical application. The graduate also has expertise in professional fields such as engineering materials, manufacturing technologies, machine and machine component design, production system design, and management. Graduates possess knowledge of industrial technologies as well as the competencies required for the design of technological workplaces and production units, the organisation and management of production and pre-production processes, and their evaluation. Furthermore, they have knowledge of industrial management methodology, the fundamentals of marketing activities, quality management systems in industrial enterprises, and the principles of both general and business economics. They are also familiar with the legal, safety, and occupational health regulations essential for the design and management of engineering enterprises, together with methods and techniques of management. With regard to professional skills, graduates of the follow-up Master's degree programme in Industrial Engineering are able to organise and manage technological production preparation, design technological workplaces (including the arrangement of machinery and fixtures, material flow, workplace interconnections, and other technical conditions), interpret technical drawings, and propose the most efficient manufacturing, assembly, completion, and surface treatment methods and procedures. They are capable of organising and managing production and pre-production processes and evaluating their performance, validating new manufacturing procedures, determining quality control and technical testing methods, and contributing to production quality management. Graduates can perform technical supervision in workplaces, monitor compliance with technological procedures, apply tools of economic and financial business management, carry out marketing activities, employ managerial decision-making methods to identify optimal solutions to problems, and evaluate, improve, and design business processes in industrial sectors such as metallurgy, engineering, and the automotive industry. Graduates are professionally qualified to prepare, conduct, and compile reports on the results of laboratory or technical experiments. They are able to validate new manufacturing procedures, participate in the implementation of technological changes, and contribute to innovation activities. They can apply the legal, safety, and occupational health regulations required for the design and management of engineering enterprises. Graduates possess practical skills in management methods and techniques, are able to utilise quality management systems within industrial organisations, and have a sound understanding of both general and business economics. Graduates of the follow-up Master's degree programme in Industrial Engineering possess the following general competences: • the ability to make independent and responsible decisions in new or changing circumstances, or within substantially evolving environments, while taking into account the broader social implications of such decisions; • the ability to define, coordinate, and manage professional tasks in accordance with changing circumstances and available resources, while assuming ultimate responsibility for their outcomes; • the ability to resolve ethical issues independently; • the ability to communicate their professional opinions clearly and persuasively to both specialists and the wider public; • the ability to clearly and accurately summarise the views of other team members; • the ability to apply their specialist knowledge, professional skills, and general competences in at least one foreign language; • the ability to plan, support, and manage the further development of professional knowledge, skills, and competences of other team members through the application of theoretical knowledge from the discipline.
