VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
The aim is to equip students of the three-year bachelor's programme Intelligent Transport and Logistics with the knowledge and skills that will help them in their future careers in the field of transport and logistics. The aim is to teach them to solve transport and logistics tasks and processes using modern technologies such as visualization, simulation and artificial intelligence, and to enable them to work with a modern production line consisting of conveyor belts and handling robots, on which they will test their solution designs in practice. Graduates should thus have knowledge in the fields of logistics and management, operational analysis, modelling of transport processes and flows, the economics of logistics processes and automation, informatics and robotics. They will also master the issues of digital technologies focused on the latest trends of Industry 4.0. The ability to accurately name a problem, map the reasons for its emergence and propose possible solutions is also essential.
Professional knowledge Graduates acquire professional knowledge in specialized subjects focused on: TRANSPORT (Fundamentals of transport, Means of transport, Industrial transport and logistics, Transport and handling equipment, Transport systems and technologies, Transport infrastructure, Technology and management of road and urban transport, Technology and management of railway transport, Technology and management of air transport, Special transport systems), LOGISTICS (Logistics I - Fundamentals of logistics, Logistics II - Logistics systems, Logistics III - Distribution and production logistics, Logistics of transmission networks, Industrial transport and logistics), ECONOMICS (Economics of logistics systems I, Management and marketing in transport and logistics, Production management and organization, Quality management of transport systems, Personnel management of a transport company), FUNDAMENTALS OF ROBOTICS (Industrial robots and manipulators, CAD I), INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES (Fundamentals of automation, Smart technologies in logistics, Decision-making tasks in logistics I, Information systems in mechanical engineering, Computer simulation of logistics processes I, Data visualization and processes) From the subjects of social science nature, 2 subjects are centrally selected: Social Reality in Engineering Practice and Soft Skills I. To develop language competences, four-semester language subjects in English and German can be compulsorily chosen, and at the same time, 6 subjects can be studied in English as an option, namely: Economics of Logistics Systems I, Logistics I - Fundamentals of Logistics, Logistics II - Logistics Systems, Transport and Handling Equipment, Computer Simulation of Logistics Systems I and Decision-Making Problems in Logistics I. Studies in the bachelor's study program Intelligent Transport and Logistics are completed with a state final exam in two state-mandated subject areas and the defense of a final bachelor's thesis. Professional skills The professional skills of a graduate of the bachelor's degree program will include the ability to: - prepare technically focused reports, - prepare, implement and evaluate technical and technological experiments, - use the innovative potential within their future profession, - use the entrepreneurial potential of each student, - communicate, written and oral, in at least one selected foreign language, - present their own outputs verbally and non-verbally, - be aware of the latest trends and monitor the state of technology in a given area, - analyze, solve or optimize transport and logistics problems in a broader context with regard to economic and environmental conditions. General competencies The general competencies of students are practiced on the basis of separate tasks within individual professionally focused subjects with the aim of improving communication skills in Czech and foreign languages. In the framework of communication with the lecturer and trainer, the student's judgment is shaped so that it qualitatively corresponds to the current state of knowledge.
