VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava - Faculty of Materials Science and Technology
Imagine being behind the development of materials that form the foundation of rockets, electric cars, or even bridges. As a materials engineer, a researcher in a top laboratory, or a specialist in new alloys and composites, you’ll be shaping the building blocks of the world of tomorrow.
Applications are submitted online through the VSB–TUO Electronic Application System. Applicants select their study programme, complete the required information, and upload all mandatory documents. After submitting the application and meeting the admission requirements, they are included in the admission procedure.
Graduates possess knowledge of the structure, properties, production, processing, and degradation of engineering materials. They are able to design and select materials for specific applications, evaluate their mechanical, physical, and chemical properties, analyze their structure, and identify the causes of defects and failures. They are prepared to participate in the development of new materials, the management of production processes, quality control, and research activities in industrial companies, laboratories, and research and development centres, as well as to continue their studies in a follow-up master's degree programme.
