Tips on where to travel in Czechia

I consider moving to Czechia to be the best decision - because it is in Centre of Europe, it couldn’t be more amazing!

I have moved to Prague on September 24, and since then I have travelled not only around Europe but mostly around Czech cities like Liberec (been here the most times!), Karlovy Vary, Česky Krumlov, Kutná Hora, Znojmo, Lipno, Dolní Morava and many more. There is another type of peace here which is so comforting.

Few things I would suggest for taking small trips across the country:

  1. Always reserve your seats while booking to avoid hassle. I usually book through the České Dráhy (Czech Railways) app - it's so convenient!
  2. Carry one light jacket. Outside Prague, nights get a little cold even in summers (not when it's 35°C during the day, which is rare thought).
  3. Carry your students ID for discounts everywhere, even on train/bus tickets. It's usually a one day trip to cities in Czechia and transportation is very easy and convenient and you can easily navigate through PID Lítačka app, even if you aren’t in your city.

At last I want to finish up by saying that you should travel Czechia as much as possible, because it is very different from the capital city, Prague, and if you want to feel the true authentic Czechia and its culture, don’t miss out on trips during weekends to other cities! <3

Merry Expat Christmas: Finding Home Away from Home

As a student living abroad, celebrating Christmas can be a bittersweet experience. For the past two years, I've been far from the familiar warmth of my family and lifelong friends, finding myself feeling homesick most of the time. This feeling intensified, considering I also celebrate my birthday in December, leading to three consecutive celebrations - birthday, Christmas, and New Year - all far from my loved ones. However, little did I know that these Christmas celebrations would evolve into an unexpected adventure of joy and connection.
