Knowledge-based technologies are understood as a set of practices aimed at both the automatic discovery of knowledge (i.e., regularities, relationships and contexts) in large data sources and the formulation and processing of knowledge used by human experts in various subject areas. In many cases, either the knowledge processing methods themselves or the applications using the prepared knowledge fall under the topic of artificial intelligence (we then talk about intelligent systems). The second main pillar of the programme, web technologies, involves developing web applications, publishing structured data sources on the web and linking them. The programme benefits from the fact that two sub-areas are strongly linked, e.g., by the areas of web analytics or the use of machine inference and inductive learning over semantically described data exposed on the web.

Study

After graduation, you will be able to: - conduct pre-processing of data of various nature, analysis, modelling, classification, prediction and interpretation and subsequent presentation of the acquired knowledge, - design, adapt, implement decision support systems and integrate them into information systems, - develop advanced web-based applications, specialise in the positions of data analyst - data analytics with an emphasis on advanced, highly automated and scalable methods, including analysis of unstructured data, web engineer - design of advanced web applications and web data sources; data analysis using web analytics tools; analysis of data extracted from the web, or specialist in intelligent systems - artificial intelligence technologies, including both currently prevalent machine learning techniques and other real-world AI methods, including symbolic and general AI.
